In 1990, on the 50th anniversary of the merger of Grace Church and St. Luke's Church, the parish published Grace-St. Luke's: the First Fifty Years. In addition to offering an exhaustive history of the combined parish, the book is also rich in detail about the century of history each parish enjoyed before the merger.

In the late 1970s, the parish and vestry of Grace-St. Luke's undertook an history project that began with a comprehensive history of Grace Church. Martha Wharton Jones, with editing assistance from Dr. Henry Hall Peyton, III, was selected to write the book and -- in 1980 -- the 65-pageGrace Church: 1852-1940 was published.
The book is remarkably researched and a wonderful read for anyone interested in the early history of our parish. Few copies exist today, but the short book can be downloaded by clicking here: Grace Church: 1852-1940.
